5×5 Motion from DropThePuppetHead on Vimeo.
Got a new P&S Camera that does HD video, so I decided to go back to my roots and start playing around with some video. This is a 5×5 which is five random shots, 5 seconds each. I turned the audio off, but that is not part of the rules.
Check out the Vimeo 5 Vignettes Channel to see what other people have done.
How much ?!?
This is my first test run of our new Kodak m1033…a compact point and shoot. It has face recognition, focus tracking, and also does HD videos. Not bad for an impulse buy at Walmart for $200.
Let me know what you think.

Poppies
A quick snap with a little point and shoot. Make me realize that have all the fancy digital SLR equipment isn’t always required for making good art.

Jiri Kylian’s Car Men
One of the major Czech TV stations, CT2, plays all kinds of interesting stuff and tonight I happened to catch Jiri Kylian’s Car Men (2006). Jiri Kylian is a Czech choreographer and this film is a collaboration with dutch filmmaker Boris Paval Conen and the Nederlands Dance Theater. The result is something between completely amazing and unnervingly trippy.
The actors/dancers are all in their 40′s and bring an eerie playfulness the art house indie film. Conen combine many interesting film techniques, including speed ups, slow mos, and rewinds, to accentuate the choreography and mess with the tempo.
It is both hard to watch and impossible to take your eyes off of.

This is the effect of taking a day time picture and processing it as infrared black & white in Photoshop.
Pitch black night…cool huh
Hunting Stand V
Zoe and I went out for a little winter shoot yesterday. Even though you see hundreds of these hunting stands throughout the Czech Republic on any given drive, I still find them fascinating subjects. So check out this Flickr Photo Set to see more images from our littler journey. It got pretty damn cold so we had to get back to the car, but I am looking forward to getting back around the area soon.
