I had an oppurtunity to take some nice detail shots of a decaying fire truck. My favorites are here and here, and as always the runners up end here.

A week and change, that is how long Zoe has been with us. It is shocking how worlds change in just a matter of moments. All for the good I must say. I have thought about the birthing process and the nurturing process, and really how most of it (almost all) is up to the mother.
It is also amazing the amount of pain the process has, that last weeks of pregnancy, the labor, the breastfeeding, etc and how it effects me. Whoa. I know what mothers reading this are thinking
I am talking about the feeling of helplessness and inadequacy. Though these are not terribly strong reactions, they are noticeable, especially when there is pain and discomfort for Kat involved. I am not used to these things. As I have mentioned before I have a total respect for women who have children, they are the ones that experience the largest life change.
I am sure that other men feel the way that I do, and maybe this is root for why men fight and kill. Because that is what we have the power to do. We can’t naturally create life so we take it. Because we can’t deal with these inadequacies, we are determined to recreate it in a lab. Hoping that if we can clone a human being that we will feel complete and at peace. Perhaps.
Perhaps I have not had enough coffee.
All I know is that I have never been so happy to hear a little baby burp and fart ![]()
It is with great pleasure and honor that I introduce Zoe Anna Leach to you, the world. Zoe was born at 5:11 pm on Saturday Nov. 6th. She tipped the scales at 8 lbs, 7 0z, is 20 1/2 inches long, and has more hair than I do.
She, simply, is beautiful. My wife Kaca is the bravest and strongest person I have ever known. I am in awe and now know that I can never ever complain about pain to her again.
Too my mom…thank you! We love you.

Yesterday I thought of the lyrics from a Guru song “Lifesaver”
“It takes a more intelligent man to squash a fight than to set one off.”
That is how I fealt as Kerry quickly conceded the election, realizing that a legal fight was imminent and would do the country no good. I think you may be a good man Mr. Kerry now go back to the Senate and do some good!
I thought I understood my country and what American values meant. Apparently I was blind to the fact that half the country did not agree with me or the rest of the world. I am shocked and awed.
For my friends and family in the rest of the world just remember that there are 100 million people that disagree with this president and the 100 million that do, they are not getting Christmas cards this year.
It is a strange day in America. Sleep well Mr. President with your dreams of total world domination …sleep well.
In an effort to help the baby into the world, Kat, Mom and Myself to decided to take a road trip over to Gillette State Park. Beautiful place. Here are some pics…check out puppethead(photoblog) for some more of the shots.
