2004 In Review

Well I have to say that it has been a pretty amazing year with more highs than lows. 2004 marked some pretty significant events in my life:

  1. Celebrated our Honeymoon in Jamaica
  2. Turned 30
  3. Visited Prague and found out I was going to be a daddy while I was there.
  4. Enjoyed Visits for my Czech inlaws
  5. Went almost six months without a functioning camera, and shot like a madman for the last 6 months.
  6. Launched dropthepuppethead.com – a photoblog displaying my daily visual experiences
  7. Celebrated the first year of marriage with my lovely wife.
  8. Bought our first house
  9. Bought and wielded my first power drill
  10. Enjoyed more visits from Czech inlaws
  11. Went through four transformations of vehicle ownership
  12. Witnessed my wife go through the 9th month transformation into motherhood.
  13. Helped give birth to a BEAUTIFUL baby girl.
  14. Stayed at the same job for 4 years (A Garth Leach World Record)
  15. Enjoy waking up early in the morning to spend time with my family :)

It was a busy, but exciting year. I hope that everyone also had as prosperous and healthy year I we did, and I wish everyone a glorious New Year.

See you in 2005!

Happy Holidays

I hope that everyone had a good holiday. The Family and I went up to Vermont to hang out with mom for a while. Besides being cold, rainy, and then green for “the day” it was a great time. As always I am amazed and delighted at how much my wife supports my photography habit.

Like a little boy I anxiously awaited to open the big box that was under the tree, in anticipation of getting an XBOX. Because all the other 30 year old boys I know have them :) As I peeled open the box I became confused, as the letter C-A-N-O-N appeared before me. Confusion turned to excitement, as I pulled out this great camera bag. Excitement turned into elation as I opened to camera bag to discover a new zoom lens and camera grip. I was giddy for like 6 hours, and I sure that someone tried to talk to me about something beside my camera, but I don’t remember :)

Kat asked me if I was dissapointed about not getting an XBOX. I said and XWhat?

Thanks Sweetie you are the best!

Kaleidoscope

Take a Friday, mix in some egg-nog from the department party, a gigantic lens, some LEDs and a Kaleidoscope and you get some very interesting results.
