What Is In A Web Address?

All my favorite ideas (perhaps even best) all started with a name. I once quit my day job because the web address daydreammedia.com was available. This led to a year of living in a loft with a dog and hangin’ out at the river. Oh yeah and I designed some websites and drank some beer.

Then I wanted to start showcasing my photography and challenging myself on a more routine basis. Add a splash of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt and you got yourself a heaping helping of dropthepuppethead.com.

thedailyshooter.com was born out of a desire to contribute to and collaborate with the online photographic community. So I contacted some people that I respect and asked if they were interested. With a resounding “Hell Ya!” we started ramping up the The Daily Shooter. It is only a few weeks old so pardon us while we still try to get the baby to suckle.

I felt I needed a launching platform to get my other writing off the ground. These pages have been primarily for that but the idea needed a name. So from this day forth you can check out my extracurricular writings at brainnoise.com (or you can still come here Mom). It is going to to be a combination of what I had for lunch, some fiction, and some general brain flatulence.

I also love it when I run spell check and I only have one mispelled word ;)

Zoe’s Turns One Year Old

Little Z turned one on Sunday. It is hard to believe how much she has grown in just one year. She went from a helpless little sausage to an independent little hog dog. I site amazed as I watch her gain control of her body, explore her environment, and daydream out the window.
Thanks to everyone that came by to share the big day with Zoe!

Another Halloween Past

Halloween, for the last decade, has been a day of mixed emotion for me. It marks the anniversary of death of my father, who fell victim to a failing body. I always think that I can get through the day without really thinking about it, and I have trained most friends and loved ones not to even mention it to me, but it still sneaks in there. My boss and cube neighbor, Hank, listened to my jab about it this year. Just 10 minutes, that was all I needed. A small remembrance of my fathers and inevitably my own mortality. Thanks Hank.

Otherwise the evening turned out to be pretty cool. Jimmie C. Came over to the house to hang out with Kaca and myself. Zoe had her first Halloween experience. She buzzed around the neighborhood in my arms dressed up as a little Bumblebee. We made it to about six houses before my arms started to give out :) . She didn’t quite know what to make of it but then again neither did I. It was the first time we met some of our neighbors and now I know why that is.

After Zoe and I returned home she went to bed, and we handed out candy by the hand fulls trying to get rid of the stuff. Our street doesn’t seem to have the same amount of traffic has some of the other parts of town. Not sure why. Once we had performed the candy transference operation from our house to all the neighborhood kids, we kicked back and had a few drinks, few smokes, a couple of interesting conversations.

The most interesting was one that I had with my wife and it was about writing. She told me that I should turn my creative energy towards writing. She told me that I have shitty grammar but that I have a flare for description, and that if she had to read a book for relaxing she would want to read something I wrote. So to get myself back in the keyboard pounding mind frame I am going to start writing a little more than post pictures (though the photos will still be coming).

Thanks sweetie for always supporting my creative side. I love you.
